Wirra Wirra The Chook Block Shiraz is a rich McLaren Vale red named after the chickens that once occupied the vineyard block. The wine displays ripe blackberry, blueberry and dark plum alongside chocolate, spice and savoury notes. A full-flavoured palate combines generous fruit weight with fine tannins and balanced acidity, creating depth while retaining freshness.

Regional Character

The Shiraz comes from McLaren Vale, a region well known for producing richly flavoured Shiraz. The area's Mediterranean climate, moderated by its proximity to the Gulf St Vincent, helps the fruit develop concentration while retaining natural acidity.

Winemaking Techniques

The fruit is fermented with careful extraction to build colour, flavour and tannin without overwhelming the fruit. Oak maturation adds layers of spice and savoury complexity while allowing the dark-fruit profile to remain central.
