Winery Background
Yangarra Estate Vineyard is a biodynamic producer in McLaren Vale, dedicated to Rhône varietals that thrive in the region’s sandy soils and Mediterranean climate. Roussanne is one of Yangarra’s rare and distinctive plantings, producing a wine of texture, elegance, and individuality that reflects both tradition and innovation.

Vineyards and Vintage Conditions
The 2018 vintage was outstanding in McLaren Vale, marked by a warm, dry season and steady ripening. These conditions delivered Roussanne of excellent concentration, ripe stone fruit character, and balanced natural acidity, setting the stage for a wine of depth and longevity.

Winemaking Process
Hand-picked fruit was whole-bunch pressed and fermented in ceramic eggs, French oak barrels, and stainless steel to enhance complexity and texture. Extended lees contact added richness and weight while preserving freshness, resulting in a layered, age-worthy white.

Tasting Notes
Golden straw in colour. Aromas of pear, apricot, and honeyed citrus are supported by notes of almond, chamomile, and spice. The palate is textural and savoury, with flavours of stone fruit, roasted nuts, and subtle earthiness, finishing long and persistent with gentle minerality.

Food Pairing
A superb match for roast chicken, pork with apple, grilled seafood, or creamy mushroom dishes. Its savoury depth also makes it a fine partner for soft cheeses or Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine.
