WINERY INFORMATION:

Yangarra Estate Vineyard was established in the year 1946, when the property was called Lalla Rookh, meaning ‘love nest’. Jess Jackson and his wife Barbara Banke purchased Yangarra Estate in 2001, charmed by the estate’s old bush vines. The brand’s philosophy is to produce wines that speak volumes of the unique terroir and quality of the vineyard.

TASTING NOTES:

Regal and bold. Ripe citrus, apricot, beeswax and salted cashew. Textural and generous with delicate phenolics.Roasted chicken with smokey baba ghanoush and green chilli pickle / Duck pâté with orange and pistachio.The growing season was affected by a very hot spring, leading to the lowest yields on record. As the grapes started their ripening process the weather miraculously cooled to a very mild ripening season. This resulted in wonderful concentration of flavour, retention of natural acidity and brightness of fruit, but above all, beautiful finesse, and balanced tannins.
