Experience the true elegance and outstanding quality of Australian wines in one of the finest wine range of Cumulus Wines, the Climbing collection. These premium quality wines are sourced from well-maintained vineyards perched on the elevated terrain of the Orange wine district. Situated at an average elevation of 600 meters above sea level, the Estate grown vineyard flaunts the magic of nature with its favourably cool and dry climate and rich ancient soils. Only the finest grapes of intense fruit characters are harvested from low yielding vines of the vineyard.

Climbing Wines

Inspired by the elevated landscape of the wine region, the Climbing wine range features six exciting varietals of unique regional characters that have risen to international fame. Climbing wines are perfect as an aperitif to a full course meal or as ideal food pairings to a variety of cuisines and cooking styles.

Climbing Cabernet Sauvignon displays a rich red colour with vibrant purple on the edges. Dark berries and blackcurrant dominate the wine’s palate while characters of dark chocolate mint and liquorice add complexity to the flavours. Maturation in French oak barrels for 12 months allows lightly integrated oak characters to complement the fine beaded tannins and the fruity palate.

Climbing Chardonnay is characterized by a pale yellow appearance with bright green on the edges. The bouquet is filled with zesty citrus aromas of refreshing grapefruit and juicy lemon. This medium bodied wine is a perfect balance of crisp natural fruit acidity and subtle hints of oak, leading to an exciting finish with depth and texture.

Climbing Merlot presents luxurious colour of red and vibrant shades of purple. The wine’s nose is bolstered by leafy herbal aromas with generous amounts of red berries, juicy plum and subtle bell pepper. Supple tannins and toasty oak add a distinct dimension to the medium-bodied palate.

Climbing Pinot Gris can be identified by its pale straw colour with tinges of faint metallic copper. The wine is filled with fresh fruit characters of crisp Granny Smith apple, juicy pear, delectable honeysuckle and zesty citrus. The ideal fusion of sweet fruits and zesty orange peel caps the palate to a crisp and refreshing finish.

Climbing Shiraz displays a deep red colour with tinges of bright purple. A combination of ripe blackberry and sweet dark cherry goes perfectly with the surprising characters of vanilla oak and dark chocolate. Velvety tannins assist the consistently smooth texture of the wine all throughout.

Climbing Pink is a fabulous rose varietal version of Cumulus wines. The fresh red berry characters are perfectly balanced by crisp acidity and smooth creamy texture from the whites. This wine is recommended to be enjoyed immediately after release while fresh notes of strawberry and raspberry are still young and vibrant.
