The Hay Shed Hill vineyard holds reputation as one of the finest pioneering vineyards of the Margaret River wine region. It is a privately – owned estate managed by a group of experienced viticulturists and winemakers who are passionate about developing wines that herald the ‘Margaret River’ name and fame to the world. It is because of vineyards such as these that the region has gained so much popularity and is regarded as one of the best wine – producing regions in the world. Hay Shed Hill is situated in Margaret River’s premier sub-region, the Willyabrup Valley and is known for producing outstanding single vineyard wines that reflect the characters of their site.

The first vines here were planted in the early – 1970s. By the late – 80s, the vineyard had been bought by the Morrisons, who named the property Hay Shed Hill as a reference to the small hay shed on one corner of the property. Pitchfork, the sister label to Hay Shed Hill, was developed in order to complement Hay Shed’s single vineyard style. This was followed by a string of ownership as well as name and wine style changes until the current owners bought back the vineyard as well as its original brand name in the year 2006 and returned it to its former glory.

While the Hay Shed Hill wines express the features of the land, the Pitchfork wines display the vibrant and juicy characters from which they are made. The brand assures customers of the highest quality wines that are manufactured using Margaret River grapes only. Tools found in the tiny old hay shed on the Hay Shed Hill vineyard site proved to be an inspiration for the Pitchfork label. Some of the most renowned Pitchfork wines include Pitchfork Moscato, Pitchfork Cabernet Merlot, Pitchfork Chardonnay, Pitchfork Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Pitchfork Shiraz and Pitchfork Pink Rose.
