In 1986, Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey teamed up to establish one of the most popular wine brands, the Barefoot Wine and Bubbly. But it was 21 years earlier in 1965 when Davis Bynum created the well-loved and historical blend of Barefoot Bynum Burgundy inside his tiny shed while everybody else was hooked up on automobiles, is the global trend during that era.

Michael and Bonnie had realized that it was time for a “wine that does not take itself seriously”. Thus, the Barefoot Cellar was created, starting a long history of success and consistency. The iconic Barefoot logo that can be found on the label is patterned from the original imprint of Bonnie’s foot. Like the logo, Barefoot wines feature simply straightforward characters, as natural as they can get.

Barefoot Cellars does not stop at crafting excellent wines that are pleasing to the palate regardless of age and wine experience. It continues to become an advocate of a number of meaningful causes, from sports and environmental protection drives, to provide for the needy and promoting LGBTQ equality.

Barefoot Cellars presents an exciting collection of five luxurious white wines that display exciting fruit characters with a clean and refreshing palate.

First on the list is Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc. The wine features a festive combination of summer fruit flavours including sweet honeydew melon, juicy peach and tasty nectarine. Subtle notes of pear and lime cap the flavourful palate to a soft and refreshing finish.

Barefoot Pinot Grigio is also a popular white varietal, with fresh zesty citrus and floral blossom characters building the nose of the wine. Tangy and crisp green apple combined with hints of luscious white peach creates a light-bodied palate leading to a bright and refreshing finish. The wine is best enjoyed with pepperoni pizza or creamy lasagne.

Sweet vanillin dominates the bouquet of Barefoot Chardonnay. This medium-bodied wine displays a bright yellow shade with hues of gold on the edges. Tasty characters of fresh honey, delectable peach and crisp Fuji apple build the fantastic structure of the palate. Barefoot Chardonnay is best enjoyed with fresh fruit salad, chicken Alfredo or grilled prawns.

Barefoot Riesling features delicate aromas of orange blossom on the bouquet while the palate is filled with delectable fruit characters. Notes of juicy apple and fresh zesty citrus create an exciting palate that caps to light and sweet finale. Fresh fruit salad, ham and cheese sandwiches, and spicy Thai cuisine are perfect food pairings for this wine.

Barefoot Moscato is a rich mosaic of fragrant fruity characters. The Moscato varietal is a lighter and sweeter counterpart of Riesling. The palate is filled with generous flavours of tangy citrus fruits, luscious peach and ripe apricots that lead to a crisp, clean and vibrant finale.
