Barossa is probably the most beloved Aussie wine region around the world. The iconic palm avenue on Seppeltsfield Road that sweeps through the vineyards of the western Barossa wine region passes through the beautiful villages of Seppeltsfield and Marananga.

This picturesque and revered wine district is home to various wine brands like Seppeltsfield, Greenock Creek Wines, Torbreck, Tscharke and Whistler Wines, in addition to multiple small-scale wineries.

The best place to get a taste of their delicious wines is the Marananga Wine Show. Started by the Marananga Lutheran Church, this annual event takes you on a journey through the lush lands and vibrant characteristics of western Barossa. This event is the only sub-regional wine show throughout Australia, so you can imagine its extravagance and significance!

It is organized in Seppeltsfield Winery’s The Vintage Cellar every year. Guests to this magnificent wine show have the opportunity to taste more than 120 distinct and flavoursome wines, and cast their votes for the popular People’s Choice award.

The 2017 Marananga Wine Show has been scheduled for 7 pm on Saturday, August 26th, at The Vintage Cellar. Tickets to the event have been priced at $20 per head, inclusive of a tasting glass as well as light refreshments. Tickets can either be purchased online at www.barossa.com, or they can be bought on the day of the event at the venue.

This year will be the 14th year of the Marananga Wine Show. Judges presiding over the panel include Nick Ryan (wine writer / educator), Penny Grant (Head Sommelier at Ghanem Group), Corey Ryan (Winemaker at Sons of Eden), and Will John (Associate Winemaker at Yalumba).

If you are a gourmet food lover, you are in luck! Head down to the Marananga Wine Show Public Tasting, and enjoy a marvellous culinary experience at some of the best restaurants in the region – Appellation at The Louise, Fino at the Seppeltsfield estate, and Hentley Farm Restaurant.

So, get ready for a splendid weekend getaway in the iconic and beloved Barossa region.
