History of Nelson Wines
Also known as Nelson Tasman, Nelson is a region with rich history of horticulture and artistic endeavours. It’s the oldest settlement in the South Island of New Zealand and has been long celebrated for its bountiful crops and orchards. The first grapevines of this region were planted in the 1800s by German settlers, but the modern wine world is said to have been introduced here in 1970s. Pioneering producers such as Seifried and Neudorf are still going strong in this region.

Nelson's climate is its best mate. The land receives New Zealand's highest annual sunshine and hence is nicknamed 'Sunny Nelson' (pretty much like Just Wines – clear by its name itself).
