One of Australia’s most renowned brands, the Watershed vineyard is located in the ‘dress circle’ of the Margaret River region at the intersection of Darch Road and Bussell Highway.

The land was bought and construction started in late - 2001. By August 2002, a private tasting room, cellar door sales facility, barrel store area and administration facilities were completely ready in addition to the parking area and cellar door entry road. Following this, Watershed increased its crush capacity to 1600 tonnes. The three barrel stores of the winery hold around 1500 barrels, 55% of which are French oak, 35% are American oak and the remaining 10% are Hungarian oak.

The three most noted and loved ranges from the Watershed estate are Senses, Awakening and Shades. The key influential factors of the Senses series are superior fruit quality and regional identity. All Margaret River wines are commendable and the Senses series ‘follows in their footsteps’. Wines in this range show exceptional varietal and regional elements. These wines are highly concentrated and complex because of the extended maturation and barrel fermentation they are subjected to.

The 2012 Watershed Senses Shiraz is an elegant varietal which is crimson - red in colour. The bouquet exhibits fragrances of dark plums, mulberries and liquorice coupled with slight hints of dark chocolate, coffee and spice. The complex palate has a velvety texture with notes of mocha and cinnamon spice complementing the flavour. The intense flavours and silky tannins make it a wine that can be consumed immediately upon release or cellared for 6-8 years.
