Muscat grapes are carefully selected from the fertile wine region of Riverland in Australia. The Murray River winding across the rich soils of the district, adds an element of beauty to the pristine terrain.
The sufficient amount of seasonal rains, abundant exposure to sunlight and relatively cool and dry climate prevailing in the region provide favourable conditions for the natural ripening of premium quality grapes with minimal intervention.
Succulent Muscat grapes are harvested as early as dawn when the temperature is cool and the innate characters are still locked in every piece of fruit. After pressing the grapes, the fruit extract is immediately transferred to fermenting vessels wherein selected high-quality yeast strains are introduced. The result of this slow and controlled fermentation technique is a rich and flavourful Angove Moscato.
This wine can be distinguished by its crystal clear appearance with light hues of green on the edges. The bouquet is filled with crisp and refreshing characters of juicy light-skinned grapes. The palate on the other side is built upon the delightfully sweet fruit characters that end to a light, clean and refreshing finish.
Angove Moscato is best enjoyed chilled and served immediately from the release of the vintage, while the fruity characters are still young and fresh. A short cellaring term of around three years will reward to a more complex Moscato structure. This wine pairs perfectly with spicy Thai cuisine and sumptuous Japanese seafood.
