Taylors Wines presents another exciting range of great tasting wines in the Jaraman Collection. It features an array of wines that perfectly captures the characters of the grape varietal, the wine region from where it is sourced and the distinct winemaking tradition of Australia.

The 2013 vintage of Taylors Jaraman Shiraz is a single varietal wine that features grapes from the two of the finest wine regions in Australia. The rare blend is a mix of 65% premium quality Shiraz grapes from Clare Valley and 35% from McLaren Vale. The climate conditions in the year 2013 were generally favourable to support the growth of high quality grapes in both the wine regions.

After harvesting the grapes, a portion of them was de-stemmed and fermented at 6 degrees Celsius for at least five days before fermenting at warm temperature with a Shiraz-specific yeast isolate. The wine was matured in American oak barrels that were at least three years in service.

The wine features a rich and deep crimson colour with tinges of lively purples hues. Ripe dark berries and slight notes of plum, creamy mocha and spices build the nose of this wine. The palate of Taylors Jaraman Shiraz features characters of blackberry, blueberry, plum and sweet dark cherry. Toasty oak, coffee, spicy notes and chocolate complement the complex structure of the wine. Silky and smooth tannins cap the exciting palate of this full-bodied wine to a creamy, bright and flavourful finish that is persistent all throughout.

This wine is intended for long-term cellaring with a minimum period of 10 years to achieve fully integrated characters of Shiraz.
