From its early days, tree breaks have been planted by the winery so as to attract birds and wildlife that call it home and are an important aspect of organic pest control at the winery. To aid in pollination, the team keeps installing bee hives. In the winter season, sheep are used to carry out weeding and slashing as well as help with fertilizing. In place of harmful fertilizers and pesticides, compost is used to build the soil nutrient content. All of these methods have helped Thistle Hill to craft organic, healthy, delicious and sophisticated wines that have won awards and appreciation from all corners of the world.
