Hardys Wines was established as Thomas’ Wines by wine pioneer Thomas Hardy, who planted his first vines in 1853. He crafted his first vintage four years later, in 1857. His vision was to craft wines with high value in international markets. Five generations of the family have devoted themselves to keeping the pioneering founder’s passion alive. In 2013, the brand celebrated its 160th anniversary.
Poured into a glass, this vibrant Shiraz flaunts a deep red colour. The luxurious bouquet offers blue and red fruit fragrances, in addition to notes of violet, mulberry spice and dark chocolate. These red fruit and cocoa characters get replicated in the full bodied palate, coupled with fruitcake flavours and hints of spice. Supported by a great acid balance and fine grained tannins, the flavoursome palate culminates in a long and lingering finale. Pair this multilayered red wine with a rib eye steak, beef stew, or rack of lamb, to have a delicious and filling meal.
