South West Australia wine zone, popularly known as South West region, lies within Western Australia. As its name goes, the zone is located in the south-west corner of Western Australia, covering an area of 23,970 square km. Influenced by the Mediterranean climate, with dry summers and wet winters, the South West Australia zone experiences around 900 mm of annual rainfall, most of it falling between May and September. The zone comprises six wine regions - Blackwood Valley, Geographe, Great Southern, Manjimup, Pemberton, and the very famous Margaret River.
