The viticulture and wine foundation of Manjimup began with research in the mid-1970s. It was then when the region's potential for growing grapes was identified. Situated in the heart of Western Australia's south-west amidst towering forests, Manjimup enjoys a reputation for its valued food crops and high-quality wines.

The Manjimup’s climate is influenced by the Indian and Southern oceans. Located at a higher altitude than Margaret River, the region receives a 279 mm of rainfall in the growing season. Dry summers, cold winters, fine autumns, spring rainfalls, even day temperatures, every aspect 0f the climate of this region has shown generosity towards viticulture. The region experiences continental climate in most of the areas. The Kennan-Queenup series of sandy, gravelly loam soils have helped Manjimup earn a reputation for its Verdelho, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grape varieties.
