Surrounding the township of Young, the Hilltops wine region falls under the Southern New South Wales zone. Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Verdelho are the popular wine styles across this region. Hilltops is also known for its unmatched wine and food country culture which are celebrated throughout the year.

Hilltops climatic conditions are unequivocally continental with huge variations in day and night temperatures. Dry summers and autumn provide suitable conditions for fruit ripening. Most of the vineyards are established at an altitude of 450 metres, ensuring an even and lengthy ripening period in the region. Substantial rainfall prevails in the growing season, with most of it occurring during the spring. The grapes for Hilltop wines are grown in rich and deep soils, typically dark red granite clays having basalt within.
