Leconfield is a proud family of renowned winemakers. Led by a passionate man of integrity in the name of Dr Richard Hamilton, Leconfield Wines continues to offer great tasting wines to every wine lover around for almost two centuries.

Inspired by the picker’s hut that is standing tall in front of a parcel of land, Hut Block vineyard is considered a viticulture sanctuary because of the ideal sand and black clay loam soils that cover the magnificent terrain. While the soil quality improves the rich flavour of the grapes, the perfect maritime climate of the wine region is proved to be conducive for optimum ripening and the balance of acids in wines.

Hut Block Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2013 vintage of Richard Hamilton Hut Block Cabernet Sauvignon is made from only the finest variety of grapes that grow abundantly in the region. After fermenting the grape juice from six to seven days, a portion of the wine was allowed to mature in French oaks. This resulted in a better balance between the natural fruit flavours and elegant oak characters.

Hut Block Cabernet Sauvignon can be identified by its deep red colour with bright highlights of scarlet. Aromatic blackcurrant fruits with subtle highlights of mint fill the nose of the iconic Cabernet Sauvignon. French oak delivers complementing notes of vanillin, cinnamon and freshly ground coffee. This medium-bodied wine has an interesting palate composed of delicious blackberries and smooth and silky tannins that end to an elegant and persisting finish.

This wine is best enjoyed with hearty dishes such as meatball spaghetti and beef wellington. It is designed for an ideal cellaring term of six to eight years.
