Nestled at the foot of the long-extinct volcano of Mount Canobolas in New South Wales, Orange is Australia’s highest-altitude wine region. It is now firmly established as one of the country’s premier wine regions, evolving from its origins in the 1980s as a rural centre of table grape production to a cool climate region known for vital expressions of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as elegant cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Shiraz.
