Pretty Good

The premium fruit parcels used to craft The Broken Fishplate Sauvignon Blanc were crushed, chilled, and then transferred to stainless steel for basket pressing. A small portion of the juice obtained was partially fermented in French oak. The resulting wine shows a pale straw colour enhanced by a bright silver haze. The luxurious bouquet offers intense aromas of kaffir lime, gooseberry and freshly cut pineapple, with subtle hints of snow peas and lemon grass evident in the backdrop. Tropical fruit flavours are balanced by linear acidity on the mouth watering palate, to end the wine in a fine and long finish. This elegant Sauv Blanc is crafted to be relished young, either on its own, or served with spicy Indian and Thai cuisines.

Owned and managed by the Osborn family since 1912, d’Arenberg Wines produces internationally acclaimed, distinctive wines using both traditional and innovative winemaking techniques. The d’Arenberg wine label was launched by Francis Osborn in 1959. The name ‘Broken Fishplate’ has been derived from the metal plates of a harvester used to collect grapes, which often breaks down while navigating around the windy vineyards of the estate.
