Vineyard

Winemaking

With some good rainfall at spring time and moderate temperatures, the vines devel- oped a strong canopy. Flowering did occur early December in the Coal River Valley and was not very successful due to low temperatures and some rain (45mm). A dry and warm summer combined with very low yield gave us an early start for harvest. By early March we were already picking sparkling grapes. Then the aromatics white and red came along early April and by the last week of April vintage was entirely done. Due to the low yield, the wines have good fruit, concentration and balance.
