: This spectacular Giesen Estate Merlot features a deep red colour. The fragrant bouquet exhibits scintillating aromas of dark cherry, plum, mocha, cassis and cedar, while the lush and fruit driven palate is rife with flavours of plum, bramble and dry spice. These vibrant elements are supported by finely structured tannins, to culminate in a lengthy and appealing finish. This wonderful red wine can be cellared for 3 to 5 years from vintage. It tastes amazing with foods like roasted pork loin, shepherd’s pie and Mediterranean lamb burgers.

WINERY INFORMATION:

The Giesen brothers showed great interest in grapes right from their youth. After visiting a local wine shop in New Zealand, they noticed the unavailability of wines from cooler climate regions. This urged them to purchase their own land in Burnham for growing vines. After completing his degree in winemaking from Germany, Marcel Giesen joined his brothers Alex and Theo, and together they founded the Giesen wine estate.
