Pretty Good

: This unique GSM blend is a mouth-watering and scrumptious red wine blend that truly delivers on what it promises. Displaying deep purple-red hues throughout, the wine exhibits aromas of juicy plums, Christmas pudding and liqueur cherries from its luscious bouquet, in addition to undertones of sweet spices and earthy characters. The weighted and structured palate is brimming with fresh plum, chai tea, cheesecake and berry flavours infused with fine, velvety tannins running the length of the palate. The complex and pleasing mid-palate brings the wine to a long and textural finale that serves well immediately upon release as well as after a medium-term cellaring period. Heavy meat dishes like braised lamb shanks, spicy stews and Moroccan tagines match exceptionally well with this marvellous red blend.

WINERY INFORMATION:

Grant Burge’s Holy Trinity stands proudly among the most beloved wines from Barossa Valley. It is a traditional blend of Grenache, Shiraz as well as Mourvedre grapes sourced exclusively from premium vineyards in Barossa Valley. Barossa Valley experienced excellent weather conditions in 2013, with good winter rains, a warm and sunny spring, and cool and windy nights. Incorporating 38% Grenache, 35% Shiraz and 27% Mourvedre grapes, this wine has gone through a rigorous winemaking process. First, the grapes were carefully handpicked, crushed and left to ferment on skins for around a week. Once primary fermentation was done, selected batches of grapes were either stainless steel pressed for settling or left to macerate on skins in the original fermenters for about a month. Following this phase, the wine was pressed softly and transferred to oak barrels for an 18-month maturation period.
