Pretty Good

Redman Cabernet Merlot is a stylish blend of 40% Merlot grapes with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. These premium grapes were harvested and then fermented in open fermenters. A portion of the juice was run off skins and stored in new French oak hogsheads. The remaining wine was transferred to old French oak hogsheads, post malolactic fermentation. This led to the creation of a deep red coloured wine. The perfumed nose offers plum, dark berry and cedar oak aromas, accompanied by light hints of violets. The palate is rich and medium bodied, containing ripe fruit flavours and soft tannins. The finish is long and dry. Enjoy this stunning red blend with slow cooker beef pot roast, pepperoni pizza and lasagne with béchamel sauce.

WINERY INFORMATION

The history behind Redman Wines goes back by over 100 years. Bill Redman moved to Coonawarra in the year 1901 and started to work at John Riddoch’s winery. Seven years later, William and his family bought 40 acres of grapevines in the region. He crafted his first batch of wine in 1909, which was sold in bulk to wine companies. The Redman family continues growing grapes and producing wine in the same traditions initiated by William a century ago.
