Wyndham Estate winery is popular for three main reasons. First, it was founded by George Wyndham, who planted Australia's first commercial Shiraz vineyard in 1830 in Hunter Valley and is known as the father of Australian Shiraz. Second is the range award-winning wines from this label that gained international attention since 1982. Third, established in 1828, it is one of Australia’s oldest wineries and vineyards and is currently owned by Iris Capital. The winery has now been reverted to its original establishment name Dalwood Estate.
