Pretty Good

Deep plum with vivid red hues. Fragrant cassis and dark plum with a cabernet leafy note. The dark fruits are complexed with chocolate, tobacco and cedar notes. Rich red and black fruits fill the mouth. Raspberry, red currant and plum fruits are balanced with fine sandy tannins and cedar oak. This medium to full bodied wine shows a lovely balance and style in true Church Block character. From release and up to ten years from vintage. Beef, mushroom and red wine pie.

Review for 2016

There is plenty to love about the Church Block blend, starting with the price tag. Just as easy to love is the fresh raspberry and black fruit, pepper, dried herbs and vanilla, cinnamon spice. Soft, well-judged oak has given an extra roundness and plushness to the wine and a savoury edge. The fuller body, soft mouth filling tannins make this a wine that is an easy choice. Plus it makes a good candidate for some short term cellaring. Lots on offer in the bottle here.
