Pretty Good

: The fruits used to craft Single Vineyard Selection Clayvin Pinot Noir were handpicked, cold soaked on skins, and fermented to retain intense phenolics and savoury notes. After being aged in French oak barrels for 13 months, the resulting wine displays a purple red colour with light magenta hues. The luxurious bouquet exudes lively aromas of blackberry, blueberry and aniseed, with hints of cedar and warm earth evident in the backdrop. This delightful Pinot Noir is lush and dense on the palate, filled with rich flavours of black fruits, liquorice, bramble and earth. Coupling with ripe and supple tannins, the palate culminates in a firm and long finish. This wonderful red wine can be cellared for a decade to enhance its structure and flavours. Pair it with oily salmon, tuna, mushroom, and lentil based dishes.

WINERY INFORMATION:

The Giesen brothers had a hobby vineyard during their growing years, which ignited their interest in grapes. After visiting a local wine shop in New Zealand, Alex and Theo Giesen became highly disappointed with the unavailability of a varied range of wines. They subsequently established Giesen Wines after the purchase of a piece of land in Burnham to craft elegant and juicy cool climate wines.
