WINERY INFORMATION:

Plantagenet Wines was the first winery in the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia and has developed an enviable reputation for producing premium quality wines since 1975. Our wines have achieved international recognition for their amazing depth of flavour and structure. The style of our wines are suited to a diverse range of cuisine, due to their elegance, finesse and incredible balance. The fruit for this wine is hand harvested and whole bunch pressed directly to barrel, retaining full solids. Wild fermentation is allowed to occur naturally in barrel for the most part, with a small addition of Champagne yeast near the end of ferment to assist in creating the desired creamy white lees. Barrels are stirred weekly to optimise textural complexity in the finished wine. The wine spends 10 months in oak before blending and a light isinglass fining before bottling.
