Pretty Good

: This 2016 vintage is a blend of 60% Grenache, 35% Mourvedre and 5% Shiraz grapes, all sourced from Barossa Valley. With an alcohol volume of 14%,it is a medium-bodied red wine with a lustrous red core. Spewed aromas of buoyant raspberry, dark cherry, rose petal, jelly crystals and deli-meats greet the nose. It is glowing and vibrant on the savoury palate with notes of jellied fruits, cherry drops, strawberries and cream, along with grainy tannins and repressed tinges of rose water backed by integrated oak. The lees texture goes the length of the palate, ending with hints of white pepper, deli meat and aromatic wood. This is a serious food wine that pairs well with pork shoulder, beef short ribs, pork sausage, lentils, portobello mushrooms, and wild rice and shitake.

WINERY INFORMATION:

Michael Twelftree, proprietor and Managing Director of Two Hands, witnessed his first vintage in 2000. Following that, his brand took off with the help of his contacts in US and UK who helped market his wines. Two Hands is guided by a core value –Quality without compromise. Their goal is to highlight pure and differentiated expression of Grenache based on each wine’s terroir. It comes as no surprise that Two Hands was listed in “Wine Spectator’s Annual Top 100”in 2012 for the 10th consecutive year, which is definitely a great achievement for a small-scale winery.
