Babich The Patriarch Red 2013 Hawke's Bay - 6 Bottles
Availability: In stock
Babich The Patriarch Red is a fascinating blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Malbec and 24% Merlot grapes harvested from the Gimblett Gravels vineyard in Hawke's Bay. 17 months ageing in French oak barriques resulted in a dense wine flaunting black-red colour. This diligently crafted wine opens with powerful aromas of blackberry, black plum, boysenberries, and cassis liqueur with spicy oak notes. The palate is flavoured with densely packed black fruits and velvety tannins. The finish is dry, long and complex with spice and liquorice. This gold medal winner wine is an ideal choice for roasted red meats, whole fillet beef, or roasted rare.

Operating in New Zealand but famous around the world, Babich is achieving milestones in winemaking for its diligently crafted, easy-drinking wines. Started in 1916, its first wine was launched under the ‘Babich Brothers’ label. The brand has been internationally awarded for its flagship red wine - The Patriarch, which has been crafted in honour of Josip Babich, the founder of the company.
