Luscious, dark fruits consisting of blueberry and plums, with hints of rhubarb and vanilla on a long fine palate.
Shiraz benefitted from the cooler early summer months sufficiently protected from the hot sun to retain freshness and acidity, and ripened evenly through the warmer months to build flavour and ripen tannins. The freshly fermented wine is racked to new French oak. In oak the wine undergoes malo-lactic fermentation and up to 20 months maturation.
Will benefit from careful cellaring for up to 10 years.
The style of the 2011 Shiraz is one of elegance with piercing fruit characteristics, destined to blossom further with careful cellaring. Shiraz is seen as the bastion of rankland River.
