Geoff Hardy K1 Shiraz features a dark ink colour lined by vibrant crimson tinges. Spicy scents of white pepper and cloves combine with pleasing aromas of raspberries, plums and candied orange to offer a perfumed nose. These plum, raspberries and white pepper fragrances are reflected on the elegant palate, containing dried apricot flavours. Balanced by silky tannins and a combination of American and French oak, these great characters culminate in a delicate and persistent finish. This excellent Shiraz has the potential to be cellared for 11 years. Made for consumption upon release, it tastes good with Beef Bourguignon, chilli Colorado and toffee nut cake.
Along with fellow viticulturist Ian Leask, Geoff Hardy founded Pertaringa in the year 1980. The winery is located in McLaren Vale. 6 years later, he found the perfect site for growing premium cool climate grapes in Adelaide Hills. This vineyard came to be known as K1 by Geoff Hardy. Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy was established in 2004 and offers a broad range of alternative varieties in Australia. Together, these three wineries make Wines by Geoff Hardy.
