WHY DO WE LIKE THIS WINE
Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz is a vibrant purple coloured wine which took its fruit from 35-yr-old and 120-yr-old vines. This robust wine opens with fragrance of cloves and violets on the nose, along with hints of mulberry and dark chocolate. The purity of dark fruits and plums lingers on the palate with firm and savoury tannins. The wine shows impressive depth and harmony of flavours at the finish. This diligently crafted red wine develops complexity over careful cellaring. For a great taste, pair this elegant Barossa Valley Shiraz with beef or venison dishes.

Review for 2015
The Glaetzer family has been involved in growing or making wine in the Barossa Valley since the 1800s and in 1995, Colin Glaetzer, started the Glaetzer label. The family focus on Shiraz in its most hedonistic Barossan expression. The Bishop is always a show-stopper both in shelf appeal and in the glass. It is a big, bolder than bold, juicy red. The lashings of liquorice, earth, and chocolate wrap firmly around the black-fruited heart. This is an opulent red in weight and charm with its finish is of warm caramel spice. It is a big red lover’s wine that should mellow with age, although I have not yet had that pleasure.
