Grant Burge Wines was established in the late 1980s by Grant and his wife Helen. Building their wine estate right in the heart of the lush and scenic Barossa Valley region, Grant worked with his wine knowledge as well as the experience of being a fifth-generation vigneron, to craft mesmerizing and fruit-driven wines that have been praised by wine enthusiasts across the globe.
Different batches of Old Vine fruit sourced from premium vineyards in the Barossa Valley region were used to produce this vibrant and luscious Filsell Shiraz. Showing a deep ruby red colour cut through by bright purple tinges, the bouquet exhibits scents of couverture chocolate, dark forest berries, vanilla bean and blood plums mixed with notes of cherry liqueur, dark roasted coffee and earthy spices. The delicate and silky palate is brimming with juicy raspberry, black cherry, warm chocolate lava cake and Chai spice flavours, with underlying nuances of toasty and earthy elements. The powerful flavour profile is supported by the supple tannin structure, providing a lengthy and lingering finale. This elegant Shiraz wine can either be opened upon release, or be cellared for about 15 to 20 years from vintage. It is a great companion to beef tenderloins or slow-cooked beef cheeks.
