WHY DO WE LIKE THIS WINE

Poured into a glass, it reveals a dark crimson red colour with purple hues. The complex nose exudes sub-regional notes of chocolate and spices on the savoury spectrum, with bursts of plum, dark berry and bright whole bunch fermentation characters. The fragrances pave way for a delicate yet dense palate revealing bright berry characters derived from whole bunch fermentation balanced beautifully with the iodine and peat notes from traditional long-duration skin contact. The drink finishes off with well-resolved tannins and nuances of new French and American oak. It tastes great with rare beef rib eye with bearnaise sauce.

Orlando Wines, Barossa Valley's first commercial winery, is located in the city of Rowland Flat, South Australia. The first vines that were cuttings of Rieslings from Germany were planted by founder Johann Gramp in 1847 in Barossa’s Jacobs Creek. The winery is currently owned by Pernod Ricard Winemakers - one of the largest Australian wine, spirits and beverage companies.
