In 1928, Giuseppe Sorgiovanni moved from his tiny village in Calabria, Italy to Western Australia in the hopes of starting a new life. He settled on a small farm in Harvey and tilled the fertile soils of this prime horticulture region. His large orange tree plantation led to the establishment of Harvey Fresh, a local manufacturer of dairy products and fruit juices. In the year 1999, his son Kevin got influenced by the growth of viticulture in the region and his love for wine inspired him to set up a greenfield winery site ready for the 2000 vintage. This led to the birth of Harvey River Bridge Estate.
