Alex Head founded HEAD Wines in the year 2006. The winery focuses only on single - site Rhone varietals from Eden and Barossa Valley in South Australia. Their exquisite ‘House’ style is used to craft wines of great balance, freshness, intensity, flavour and length. The fruit used for their creation is a combination of early picking, slow and careful winemaking, low yields and attention - to - detail during the maturation phase. All of their vineyards practice sustainable farming following organic principles. Fermentation is done using indigenous yeasts and maturation is done in large, Burgundian barrels with minimalistic use of Sulphur during the whole process.
