In 1989, skilled winemaker Gavin Berry and his wife Gill established the Mount Trio vineyard. It is a property spanning about 8 hectares of land in the elevated Porongurups sub - region in Western Australia. At present, the primary grape varietals that cover the land are Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Riesling, which are best suited to the conditions prevailing in Porongurups. Mount Trio also produces Sauvignon Blanc and imports other fruit varietals so as to add a diversified array of flavours and aromas to their wines. The first wines produced in Mount Trio were released in the year 1995, and were widely appreciated by critics and wine - lovers alike.
