WINERY INFORMATION

Located in Heathcote, Victoria, described by James Halliday as the birthplace of the best Shiraz in Australia, Sanguine Estate was founded in 1997. The founders Linda and Tony Hunter envisioned a boutique, family run vineyard where passion, quality, and energy reflected in the produced wine. Shiraz grows on 50 acres of the 55-acre vineyard, while the rest of the area, affectionately called the fruit salad block, contains eight other varieties. These are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Viognier and a variety unknown in Australia.
